Located a 3-minute stroll from The Rosebank Centre, Naturegarten is our purpose-built pre-school (we also run a Before & After School Club, and a School Holiday Club here). We went to Denmark to see how they did it over there, and decided that a Scandinavian-style wooden barn would suit Lymm perfectly! Walking up the garden path towards a large log cabin, you can see green space on all sides – including a little woodland, planting beds and a huge garden. Welcome to Rosebank Naturegarten!
Entering the log cabin is a bit like stepping inside a large ski chalet, with exposed roof beams and chunky wooden walls. There are lots of different activity areas within one large, open-plan space, a gym area, dining area, book corner and arts and crafts table. As well as the main central space (large enough for theatre shows at Christmas!), there are smaller rooms off the cabin for ICT, rest time and break-out activities.
The clue is in the name: Naturegarten. We built this amazing setting with outdoor education mind - there’s nothing like the changing seasons, the fresh air and the drama of the weather to awaken young minds. Play flows freely between inside and outside, allowing children to spend almost all day outdoors if they want to – even rainy days, dressed head to toe in waterproofs, for splish-splash muddy fun.
Who is Naturegarten for?
Naturegarten is the ‘next room up’ from Rosebank – so most little recruits start at around 2.5 to 3 years old, depending on when they’re naturally ready. Naturegarten is a pre-school, so children stay until it’s time for primary school, around age 5. But as well as operating as a pre-school, we also run Swizzlink: a Before & After School club for children attending Ravenbank school, located just over the garden fence. In addition, we run a Holiday Club out of school term time.
For children approximately 2-5 years old, Naturegarten is the next step up from Rosebank, through to starting school.
